The Department’s staff have included the founders and leading theorists of commodity science, recognized both in Poland and abroad, as well as founders and active members of the Polish and International Commodity Science Associations.

Among the most distinguished figures were:

Prof. Mieczysław Mysona, Rector and Honorary Doctor (Doctor Honoris Causa) of the Cracow University of Economics,

• Prof. Wiesław Nalepa, Ph.D., Director of the Institute of Commodity Science, Vice President of IGWT,

• Prof. Ignacy Duda, Ph.D., long-term Director of the Institute of Commodity Science, Dean of the Faculty, member of the Central Qualification Commission (CKK), and recipient of the “Signum Gratiae” Medal of the Cracow University of Economics.
